About Me

Welcome to my blog!

I’m Rebecca, a Bostonian graduate student. I don’t live in a dorm room any more, but I have to figure out how to change my domain name haha. Currently I’m living in Japan and enjoying all the weird and wonderful flavors the country has to offer.

Come along for the ride–I may blow things up, make giant messes, and frustrate the hell out of myself along the way, but I’m happy to have you on board and hopefully you’ll be able to learn from my mistakes.

Feel free to email me at dormroombaking [at] gmail.com with any comments, questions, or suggestions.

A few fun facts about me:

-I love throwing vanilla and cinnamon into recipes, if I think it goes with the other flavors, there will be vanilla extract or cinnamon (sometimes both!) without fail.

-In my free time I like to play League of Legends and other video games with my fiancé (Josh) and watch lots of random things on Netflix.

-I’m a secret anime fan (and blogger!) here’s a link to my anime review blog if you’re interested in my geekier side ;).

    • Haha indeed! Somehow I just can’t bring myself to wait for butter to soften properly…it’s just takes way too long. Let me know if you do decide to pick up baking! I’ll be happy to answer any questions.

    • Wow Jhuls! I’m really honored. Thanks so much :D. I do think I’m going to have to sit out on this one though, I think I’ve posted enough awards for the year and I’d really like to focus on posting recipes for a while now.

    • Thank you so much for the nomination and the kind words about my blog on your post! I’m so happy you thought of me for the award even though I’m currently too busy to participate :).

  1. I am so happy that I found your blog (from the comment you left on my Pad Thai recipe today)! You are brave trying to bake in a dorm room 🙂 I remember when I was in college, I almost set the place on fire just making instant noodle soup… can’t imagine being able to pull off the great stuff you have made. Love your site, and I “followed” you so I can get all of your updates! Keep up the great baking!

    • Thank you so much! It’s a lot of work, but I love the challenge :). I really appreciate the follow and I’ll definitely be stopping by your blog often as well–it’s great that you strive to use fresh, seasonal ingredients. That’s something I’ve started to appreciate more since I have less access to them while at school.
